GREAT LEADERS ARE SHAKERS AND SHAPERS I subscribe to the fact that everyone is born to be a LEADER. It is unfortunate however that many people pass through life without realization of the immense potential locked within them. There is need for men and women who rise to the grand stage and shake foundations of the status quo. You are here to transform your spaces as a leader, parent, manager, worker, entreprenuer or as a world citizen. How then do we influence and shake our spaces? The starting point in being a SHAKER is to see the end from the beginning. Difference makers are driven by the ability to see a better future before it manifests. They are great visionaries and seers of a new dawn. ln the year 1885, a certain Bishop preached a powerful message to the effect that the world was coming to an end in the next few years. His argument was very simple; everything that could ever be invented had been invented to that particular date. Amongst the congregants were his two sons who said to their father after the sermon; "Before the world comes to an end, we will fly in metal." Fast track 18 years later to 1903, flight became a reality courtesy of Wilbur and Orville Wright. Their father was Bishop Wright. The Wright Brothers were Shakers and Shapers in their environment. You can also be a shaker if you choose to craft a vision of the greater realities that lie yonder. Great leaders always take strides into the future and they picture greatness ahead of time and they go out of their way to craft such a future. Some years back in rural Japan, a young man of 17 saw the first ever car that he encountered in his life. He got so excited and started running after it. He couldnt catch up with the vehicle but managed to scoop some oil that had dripped from the samp. He smelled the oil and declared; "One day, l will make my own like this." The man was Soichiro Honda. He went on to become the founder of Honda Motor Corporation. Soichiro was a Shaker and Shaper who saw into the future ahead of his time. Shakers are forever hungry for success. Never be satisfied by the way things are. Seek something bigger, better, smarter and more value adding. Shakers speak of a better world and they search for better solutions. Shakers are not generational thieves who leave the world in a worse off state than they found it. lnstead, they are so hungry to add value to civilization that they leave no stone unturned until their desires become a reality. This yearning for value addition push them to stretch to higher levels. You are not here to merely take in oxygen and take out carbon dioxide and wait for the day you die. You are here as a contributor. During your time, be so hungry to offload everything to the world that you have been send to offload. You must die empty. In the year 1888, a certain gentleman woke up in the morning to see his own obituary in the newspaper. ln that obituary, it was written; "THE MERCHANT OF DEATH HAS DIE." lt went on to narrate how this gentleman had invented dynamite which killed many people. A night before, this man's brother had died. A journalist mistook the death and wrote a wrong obituary altogether. The man had a wake up call because of that error and he made a resolution on that day that he didnt want to be remembered for the wrong things. He wrote his will and committed 95 percent of his wealth to the advancement of worthy causes. The man in question was Alfred Nobel of the Nobel Peace Prizes. His legacy lives on hundred years later because he was hungry to contribute value to civilization. He was a Shaker and Shaper of his world. Shakers are ambassadors of change. In every generation, there is need for men and women who act as Agents of Transformation. These come in the form of the Shakers who are not satisfied with the status quo. Being an ambassador of change is a choice that one makes especially from an entreprenuerial and value addition standpoint. Because the world is changing fast, what took us here cannot take us there. Leaders must jump into the arena and make things happen. This is where you are called to be a Shaker and Shaper. Are you such a leader? #noahmangwarara #positivelyimpactinghumanity #motivationalspeaking #leadershipdevelopment https://www.facebook.com/Noah-Mangwarara-555359438281197/
