LEADERSHIP LESSONS FROM BIBLICAL WOMEN - Jochebed

LEADERSHIP LESSONS FROM BIBLICAL WOMEN JOCHEBED - Moses' Mother The story of Jochebed can be summarised by a simple statement, "Never neglect young life." Young life is the seed of the future, it is the hope of the world. Pharaoh's shallow idea of power was oppression. Real leadership's thrust and focus ought to be contribution instead. The preservation of life and advancement of civilization is the central point of leadership. lt doesn't matter if one has a title, position or otherwise, as long as there is no sensitivity to the demands of the future contained in young life, then there is no leadership. Transition into a better future and the continuous investment in that future is the central law of human existence. Leaders exist as the drivers of that cause. Jochebed, Moses' mother, falls in the category of the great leaders who are not known far beyond the confines of their households but whose contribution lives for many generations. Parents may be unknown but the deposit and training they instil in their children will surely propel the rise of a generation of difference makers. The world is to a greater extent indebted to the obscure individuals who are not labelled as leaders but whose hearts, minds and actions leave them at a higher pedestal than those who are looked up to. Many a giant emerged from mediocre habitations. From the very humble house of Amram and Jochebed, emerged the prophets and phophetess. lt was from the very belly of Jochebed that the law and the prophets was locked. lt was from the able leadership of Amram and Jochebed that a future crop of leaders was developed. After the birth of Moses, the mother risked her very being and that of the child. To the river bank, in a basket, the young leader was placed. The leader in Jochebed prompted her to engage in the most audacious act of the time and it made all the difference. Never imagine that you are making little or no contribution because the world may think otherwise. Contained within the small acts is the mighty power with a ripple effect that can be felt many generations aftewards. Jochebed's decision to place the child in a basket was one of the greatest leadership decisions of all time. Great leaders are honest in their space. They preserve the cause of the future. They risk their very lives for the sake of growth and advancement. Out of the seemingly simple act emerge a powerful effect without which the greatest solutions are never realised. Some men and women may have the roughest of backgrounds but under the leadership of sound mothers like Jochebed and the grace of God, they turn out to be the greatest, the strongest and the noblest of men. Moses' mother laid the basket by the river bank. She might have been labelled names by anyone who could have seen but as the astute leader she was, she had first devoutly laid that basket upon the love and care of God. Jochebed was right in the sanctuary before she turned out to be right in the tough terrains and byways of Egypt. Her devotion made her victorious and an examplary leader with great principles worth emulation by anyone desiring to make a lasting contribution in their generation. #noahmangwarara #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoach #positively #impacting #humanity #positivelyimpactinghumanity
